Google has released an update to the Gmail app for Android and iOS, enhancing the integration with Gemini AI to improve smart reply quality. The company announced this new mechanism back in May, and now, the AI takes into account the content of the entire email chain, making replies more context-aware.
Enhanced Smart Replies
With this update, users can preview multiple smart reply options and select the one that best matches their needs or writing style. This feature aims to save time for those who frequently correspond via email and to diversify the available automatic replies. In the updated version, these replies now include an initial greeting and signature, making them more comprehensive and convenient.
Availability
Context-aware smart replies are available to all subscribers of Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium plans. This new feature builds on the original “smart replies” that debuted in Gmail in 2017. NIXSOLUTIONS reminds that previously, Google introduced the Gmail Q&A feature, allowing users to ask questions to the chatbot, which analyzes the user’s correspondence to provide answers.
We’ll keep you updated on future improvements as they roll out.
