NIXSolutions: Apple Advances in AI Assistant Tech

According to Bloomberg, Apple has taken the development of its own chatbot seriously and has made significant progress over the past six months. Executives are confident that the current internal version of their AI assistant is already comparable to the latest releases of ChatGPT. At the same time, the company is considering giving Siri the ability to access and analyze information directly from the Internet.

This marks a notable shift in Apple’s approach to AI. Until recently, John Giannandrea, the head of Apple’s AI department, expressed doubts about transforming Siri into a full-fledged chatbot. However, priorities have now changed: Apple is focusing on building an assistant capable of competing with solutions from OpenAI and Google. While the technology remains in the testing phase, the internal progress already appears impressive.

Future Launch and Expectations

Despite this momentum, users shouldn’t expect major announcements about Siri during the upcoming WWDC in June, adds NIXSolutions. At best, an updated version of the assistant, powered by a large language model (LLM), may be introduced alongside iOS 19.5 in the spring of 2026.
