Improved AI Model and Personalization

According to Ars Technica, the main update focuses on the Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental AI model, designed for multitasking logical reasoning. This tool can now generate answers up to 1 million tokens long, process file uploads, deliver faster results, and integrate with Google services like Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Google Photos.

For better personalization, users can permit Gemini to analyze their search history. Google emphasizes that this function is optional, can be disabled anytime, and includes a notification in the interface when active. This approach aims to enhance the AI’s understanding of user interests and provide more relevant recommendations.

Deep Research Enhancements and Free Access

Another significant update concerns the Deep Research tool, which collects and analyzes detailed information on various topics. Now powered by the new Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model, it employs step-by-step reasoning to improve data collection and final results. Google assures that output quality will be higher.

Deep Research will be free to use but with some limitations. While users can access it without payment, the number of free uses per month is restricted. However, Google has yet to specify the exact number of requests allowed, notes NIXSolutions. We’ll keep you updated as more details become available.

Free Access to Custom Chatbots

Additionally, Gems—custom chatbots designed for specific tasks—will now be available for free. Google provides pre-made templates like Learning Coach and Brainstormer, but users can also create their own.

These updates reflect Google’s continued focus on enhancing AI capabilities and personalization while making key tools more accessible.
