The Meta Connect Event on Wednesday, September 27, promises exciting developments. According to The Wall Street Journal, Mark Zuckerberg’s company will introduce innovative Gen AI Chatbots designed to engage younger users. These AI bots, internally referred to as “Gen AI Personas,” offer a diverse range of personalities to captivate the youth.
Diverse Gen AI Personas
Inside Meta, numerous AI chatbot characters have undergone trials on Instagram. Among them is the “cheeky bot,” inspired by Futurama’s Bender, and the inquisitive “Alvin the Alien,” which raised concerns about potential data collection. One chatbot character even humorously remarked, “When you’re with a girl, it’s all about the experience. And if you make her sick, it’s definitely an experience.”
Expanding Chatbot Universe
Meta plans to release “dozens” of these chatbots and is developing a tool for celebrities to craft their own characters, fostering direct connections with their fanbase. The event may also feature programs to enhance productivity, aiding in programming and problem-solving.
Competing with GPT-4
Meta’s ambition extends to creating a robust large language model rivaling OpenAI’s GPT-4, which powers ChatGPT and Bing. During Meta Connect, the company will divulge further details about its metaverse project and the highly anticipated Quest 3 headset.
Former Snap and Instagram executive Meghana Dhar remarked that chatbots may not inherently resonate with Gen Z, but this generation is notably tech-savvy, adds NIXSOLUTIONS. The objective, as with other innovations, is to engage users for longer durations, providing more opportunities to display advertisements.
