Vids is particularly useful for teams in client training, marketing, and project development, but its versatility suits various creative purposes. The tool relies on the Gemini neural network, which facilitates quick video generation tailored to business needs.
A standout feature is the ability to generate a storyboard based on a simple text query and Google Drive documents. The storyboard organizes subtopics for the video, which users can edit, reorder, or enhance. Once the structure is finalized, the algorithm creates a draft video, combining the script, media files, text, scene details, and background music. Additional options include ready-made templates and AI-generated voiceovers for added convenience.
The AI capabilities of Vids, such as “Help me create,” “Remove image background,” and “Create voiceover,” will remain free until the end of 2025. However, Google has indicated that restrictions on these functions may be introduced starting in 2026.
Availability and Compatibility
Google began testing Vids earlier this year with select users, reminds NIXSolutions. Now, it’s rolling out to business clients of the Workspace platform. For optimal performance, Google recommends using the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browsers on Windows. While other browsers are supported, certain features may not function correctly on them.
