NIX Solutions: iPhone 16 Launch Without AI Features

Tomorrow, September 20, the iPhone 16 will go on sale — phones designed to work with artificial intelligence (AI). However, at launch, none of the AI features will be available. The Apple Intelligence AI package will initially only support American English, with a broader range of languages coming next year.

Expansion of Language Support in 2025

According to a report from The Verge, Apple plans to significantly expand the set of supported languages in 2025. In addition to American English, the Apple Intelligence features will start supporting German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and more languages next year. By December of this year, the package will include support for English variants used in the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. Additionally, dialects from India and Singapore will be incorporated next year. Apple has also announced plans to add Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish in the coming year.

Gradual Rollout of AI Features

Despite the importance of Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 16, these AI capabilities will be absent when the phones first go on sale, notes NIX Solutions. The AI features will be rolled out incrementally over the course of the fall. Even in the United States, where users typically receive new technologies first, the complete set of Apple Intelligence features won’t be available until 2025.
