Microsoft-owned GitHub has expanded access to its AI assistant for programmers, Copilot Chat.
Now the tool is available not only to development teams, but also to ordinary users. With Copilot Chat, you can learn new programming languages, solve technical problems, and get answers to programming questions without leaving the Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code integrated development environments.
AI Assistant for All Users
Copilot Chat is an AI assistant that answers programmer’s coding questions. The service was first introduced in July in a public beta version for business users. Now it has become available to ordinary users, helping them not only find errors in code but also learn new programming languages and frameworks, answering questions in a simple and understandable form.
In order to use the new tool, you will need to subscribe. GitHub offers an individual subscription that costs $10 per month or $100 per year.
Growing Market for Programmer Chatbots
The market for chatbots for programmers continues to grow, with other companies like Google and Amazon offering their own AI services to users. Google unveiled its Android developer assistant in May at Google I/O, and Amazon has developed a tool called CodeWhisperer.
Expanding access to Copilot Chat highlights the growing influence of AI in software development, notes NIX Solutions. The tool not only facilitates the process of creating code but also opens up new horizons for training and improving the skills of programmers of various levels. In the future, we can expect that such solutions will become an integral part of every developer’s arsenal, helping to improve the efficiency and quality of work in this area.
