An unexpected hard drive failure can result in the loss of important information. Most often this happens at the most inopportune moment. A new development from NAS manufacturer QNAP lets you know in advance when a drive might stop working.
The DA Drive Analyzer software developed in cooperation with ULINK is based on the work of artificial intelligence, says 4PDA. It is programmed to look for the first signs that a drive might fail. As a basis, the algorithm takes data from millions of drives, which then failed, and remembers the features that preceded this event. First, it monitors the operation of the system for two weeks, and then proceeds to constant monitoring and analysis of the state of the hard drive. When artificial intelligence detects such signs, it signals this to the user.
DA Drive Analyzer is only compatible with QNAP NAS running QTS 5.0 or QuTS hero h5.0 and newer firmware versions, notes NIXSolutions. Owners of eligible devices can use the program for free until March 5, 2022, after which it will be available by subscription.
